One of my most memorable weddings of the year was Danielle and TJ’s destination wedding at the Salero in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. You might remember them from their engagement session when I flew down to Orlando, Florida for the day to hang out and snap some gorgeous photos of this amazing couple. Most of their family and friends were traveling in from the Ohio / Pittsburgh area so the Florida couple wanted a location somewhere close enough for guests who wanted the convenience to drive. Welcome to a destination beach wedding at the Salero in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Danielle and the other lovelies got ready at a beach house the family rented for the week while TJ and the guys got ready at the Henlopen Hotel. The couple opted for a “first look” on the boardwalk before the guests arrived. That gave us a ton of time to get all the formal photos done before the ceremony and the couple had an opportunity to enjoy their entire cocktail hour with guests instead of taking photos. Father Bob Haggett performed a memorable beach ceremony. The highlight of the night certainly came after the speeches from both sisters of Danielle and brother of TJ when he introduced the one and only Dean Martin (TJ’s favorite artist) to the room. Dean sang throughout the dinner and his last song was actually the first dance song for Danielle and TJ. I rarely spill the beans that I can often produce a same-day-edit during the reception for the guests to enjoy. I knew I had a winner when we played the slideshow on the big projection screen at the Salero and Danielle’s mom Carrie came over and cried on my shoulder. I walked away from this wedding knowing I had done my job well and these photos will be enjoyed by this family forever. Thanks for letting me be such a big part of your day and enjoy!
