It was a sincere pleasure to enjoy an hour or so with Katherine and Matthew in one of my favorite cities to photograph, Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. We met an hour or so before sunset and as most of my clients do during engagements, they start out in either a formal or casual attire and then switch at some point to provide some kind of variety in their images. We started out at Founders Park where we strolled around chatting about wedding plans, life and of course expectations of their wedding and engagement photography. One of my priorities during engagement sessions and pre-wedding consultations is learning what is and what is not important for my clients in respect to their images. Getting to know their needs is imperative to providing a perfect photography experience because the last thing I want to be doing is capturing something that is not important or missing something that really is. Speaking of that perfect experience, the weather, location and the chemistry between Katherine and Matthew made photographing them in Old Town a pleasure. My favorite stops during our time together is a toss up between Prince Street and it’s cobblestone textured road surface and a gorgeous sunset over the Potomac River we caught at the end of our visit. One thing is for sure, I can’t wait to see these two again at their destination wedding this fall at Salero in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. I hope Texas is treating you both well until then.
