Melissa + Chad’s engagement session have two of my all time favorite things… boats + dogs. Did you know I grew up in Annapolis, Maryland and practically lived on the water racing sailboats in the Chesapeake Bay? True story. Melissa and Chad also wanted to include one of their favorite things, their six year old dog Mia. We snuck out onto the docks at the Downtown Sailing Center next to the Baltimore Museum of Industry to grab some pictures with the infamous Domino Sugar factory sign in the background. Just as we were walking down to the end I spotted two 23′ Sonar’s running downwind and directly into my frame. I threw my off camera light up fast like a ninja and prayed I had the lighting dialed in correctly. I snapped as they came by and luckily I was right on point the first time. From there we played around the docks where we found a dozen or so Access 303 dinghies in all different colors. Chad’s sister got married at the Baltimore Museum of Industry so we took a stroll down memory lane before heading over to Federal Hill Park for a walk with Mia. There are so many cool places in Baltimore, Federal Hill and the park is definitely one of them. I am always drawn towards the cobble stone streets and brickwork on the buildings in the area because they make amazing photos! We wrapped things up by walking down the hill to The American Visionary Art Museum and hopping in front of the LOVE sign. During our small talk I found out Chad went to high school with my cousin Kristin. They were also guests at weddings of two of my all time favorite clients and venues… Danielle + Derek @ Mount Harmon Plantation and Angela + Freddy @ Bellevue Mansion. Small world right? Melissa + Chad’s wedding at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church and reception at Hotel Monaco is going to be gorgeous, I can’t wait!
