Let’s just say any engagement session that starts out in a bar over a few beers and continues with whiskey and wine spells out F.U.N. in my book!
Angela and I met Lizanne + Ryan at Khyber Pass Pub in Old City Philadelphia for their engagement session a few weeks ago. After a few drinks and making a game plan for the afternoon, we decided to grab an Uber and head over to Race Street Pier to get started. Of course no road trip would be complete without a pit stop at the corner store to pick up a bottle of Hudson Baby Bourbon Whiskey and Cupcake Prosecco. Unfortunately the exact moment we got out of the Uber at Race Street Pier, the bottle of prosecco slipped out of their hands and ended up on the sidewalk in a million pieces. Not to let that ruin the mood, we walked down the Race Street Pier and took in the Ben Franklin Bridge and Delaware River Waterfront. Ironically, this was the exact location I took photos of their friends Danielle + Joshua’s wedding last season. Lizanne mentioned they were getting married at Old Saint Josephs Church, the oldest Catholic church in Philadelphia. With 30+ degree temperatures outside, we decided to head over to the church and try to warm up for a few minutes. Old Saint Josephs Church is full of character, history and charm. I’m overly excited to be photographing their wedding there this fall. We spent the next hour or so wandering the streets of Old City talking about wedding plans and life. Our final stop was the historic Second Bank of the United States. The Second Street Bank looks more like an ancient Greek temple with it’s massive Corinthian columns facing the south side. We took advantage of the cold temperatures and the lack of people willing to brave the elements and had the place to ourselves.
Even if I will be working on my birthday, your wedding at The Down Town Club in Philadelphia will be one I’m looking forward to all season!
Enjoy!
